We are excited to offer you our recent releases: 2007 Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2008 Daedalus DESSERT Riesling from the Maresh Vineyard, 2009 Jezebel Blanc.
2007 Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir
The Maresh Vineyard wines are from 40 year-old-vines (the 5th oldest vineyard in Oregon). Aron holds a ten-year lease on the Southern portion of the vineyard which contains the oldest vines and he farms it all organically. Aron has been working with this vineyard since he fell in love with it in the late 90's.
2008 Daedalus Dessert Riesling
A sweet Riesling with 23% residual sugar and 10.5 g/L total acidity. 100% Riesling from 38-year-old, organically farmed vines in Maresh Vineyard in the Dundee Hills. Production limited to 74 cases. 375 ml bottles.
Our first release of the 2009 vintage is Jezebel Blanc: a blend which truly shows the diversity that Oregon has to offer.
Last year, we released the 2007 Pinot Gris and the 2007 Maresh vineyard Riesling. The 2007 vintage was truly a great vintage for whites, and the Pinot Gris is showing beautiful citrus notes along with balanced minerality. The 2007 Riesling, from 40-year-old Maresh vines, is a bright and lively wine, with limestone, petrol, and the tiniest hint of sugar.
Thanksgiving 0f 2009, we released our 2007 Pinot Noirs. The 2007 vintage was also a great year for Pinot Noir. Some critics initially panned the vintage because it was a difficult year, and not all of the wines that came out of it were show stoppers. There was a significant rain event on 9/29/07, and those who panicked and picked everything before the rain were able to make decent wine but those who waited (and we did) were rewarded. The grapes gained flavor but not alcohol due to the cool weather. The resulting wines have superb natural acidity, modest alcohol levels, but also superb flavors and concentration.
2007 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
2007 Maresh Vinyard Pinot Noir
2008, by contrast, was long and cool with lower yields. There was not heavy rain pressure, so grapes were allowed to ripen slowly over time. These wines are balanced with great purity of fruit and structure.
